When: Saturday, April 30, 10 AM

Where: ROW DTLA

What We’re Doing: Design and create your very own concrete vessels with Krizia of Concrete Geometric. Each vessel will be cast using Concrete Geometric's special concrete blend. No previous design or casting experience is required for this class. We will go over the process of casting concrete layers with silicone molds. The colors for the pieces will be earth-inspired pigments. Use the tray as a sage/palo santo holder or for organizing other objects in your home or office. We will also go over a simple technique of adding drainage to your pot if you decide you want to make this a small planter set. Working time will be about 1hr and drying time is 1hr. Your pieces will be ready to open by the end of the class. While your pieces dry I will go over sealing your concrete and hand out a sealer and brush for you to seal your pieces at home the following day.

  • Pieces you will make: 1 Tray, 1 Pot, 1 tea light holder
  • Pigments being used for this class: Earth tones: Taupe, Clay, Sand, Walnut
  • Take home: Sealer + Brush + finished vessels + Tea light candle + Instructions for finishing your piece with a sealer.
  • Provided in Class: Concrete, tools, sandpaper, masks, aprons, latex gloves
  • Molds per student - 1 Tray, 1 Planter, 1 mini candle holder

Please wear clothes that can get dirty, it hardly ever happens but small drops of concrete may land on your clothing.

About the Artist:

Latina owned and founded in 2013, Concrete Geometric grew out of Krizias’ love for minimalism, geometric objects, plants, and nature. Everything is “Echo a mano” (handmade) by her in her home studio. Her design pieces have been showcased in Paris, Canada, NY, and LA design weeks. She has designed custom pieces for Olympian Shaun White, Dropbox, Mayor of LA, and collaborated with many other artists in LA. Krizia believes creativity happens when you’re inspired by your surroundings, whether that be creating a calming vibe for a special area of your home or a visual getaway using objects to accent a piece. Her process/mantra is simple, get out of your mind and into your hands. This mantra not only helps with the design process but it nourishes the creative side of our minds in a very calming way.
