What We’re Doing: Join us for this FREE family-friendly event celebrating the launch of TO MAKE, a HarperKids picture book about looking at the world like an artist and all things creative! We'll be joined by author, Danielle Davis, and illustrator, Mags DeRoma for storytime, a Q&A session about their creative process, a raffle, book signings, tasty treats, and of course, time for MAKING! We'll be crafting our own Maker Ribbons to celebrate every kind of creative making! ✨

Danielle Davis grew up in Singapore and Hong Kong and now lives in Downtown Los Angeles. Her first middle-grade novel was Zinnia and the Bees. Her first picture book is To Make from HarperCollins, art by Mags DeRoma.
Danielle reads, writes, and roller-skates, as well as facilitates creative writing workshops for kids, helping them express their unique voices and imaginations. She has a creative writing YouTube channel for kids, This Writer's Life, and is a contributor at KidLit TV. She volunteers with Reading to Kids in Los Angeles. She blogs about picture books at This Picture Book Life. She's got an M.A. in literature and creative writing, and a number of years ago had the privilege of teaching English to middle school and then community college students.
