Jenny Hart is best known for her artwork in hand embroidery and her revolutionary design company Sublime Stitching (est. 2001). She is an award-winning author of seven titles on embroidery for Chronicle Books and her work in embroidery has appeared in numerous books and magazines including Vogue, Nylon, Rolling Stone, The Face, Juxtapoz, The New York Times Magazine, The Washington Post and many others. In 2012, Jenny’s work was entered into the permanent collection of the Smithsonian American Art Museum!
We are so thrilled to offer an Introduction to Hand Embroidery Workshop with Jenny! Through Jenny Hart's unique and engaging approach, students will learn the basics of hand embroidery. This includes five embroidery stitches: split, stem, back, chain, and French knot. Hart will also guide students through how to transfer patterns and make their own patterns, how to stitch difficult fabrics, and numerous other special tips, shortcuts, and unique approaches developed from her fifteen years of experience and research.
