We are so excited to have artist Klai Brown in the studio this week! Brandy discovered her work at a craft fair a few months back and when opening Makers Mess, we had to stock her work! Not only is she a talented potter but her hand-drawn characters add a haunting beauty to each piece she creates. She has several pieces hand-painted with 18k gold images and often her characters wrap under and around the piece. If you haven't seen her work you can check out her shop here.
Klai received her BFA from California State University at Long Beach and is currently living and working in the Long Beach area. She spends most of her time making ceramics, good food, painting or practicing yoga.
Klai's work is entirely handcrafted in her studio. Each piece made with certified non toxic materials and is carefully hand painted, one at a time then high fired. She use eco-friendly studio practices and donates a portion of each sale to Potters for Peace.
Klai's ink and watercolor workshop is this Friday, November 13th from 7-9pm. Learn her techniques and draw from observation to create your own masterpiece. All materials included. Sigh up HERE.
