Figure drawing is part of the foundation of a drawing practice. In this class we will seek to demystify drawing the body and rediscover the poetry of the human form. Using a live nude model as inspiration, we will begin with a series of 30 second poses using soft charcoal to loosen up our technique, and then will move into studies of longer poses in which we can explore light and shadow, details and different media. The main emphasis in this class is to capture the life and energy that is present in the human body, not necessarily to draw a photorealistic portrait. Perfect for beginners and advanced artists alike! All materials will be provided by us, but feel free to BYOB!
