Looking for some inspiration? Grab a pal and come out to meet fellow creatives while hearing from a few amazing local creative entrepreneurs about their own challenges and advice for living an artful life! Makers Mess will provide the drinks and snacks! We are so honored to host Paco de Leon of the Hell Yeah Group, Rosanna Kvernmo of Iron Curtain Press, and Shinah Chang of Crooked Calligraphy!
Paco is a musician who happens to be killer at finance. She has spent most of her career working with creatives who also do business. Her experience ranges from business consulting, business management, financial planning, wealth management and she even spent some time at a big, evil bank. Her experiences have lead her to found The Hell Yeah Group, a financial firm focused on inspiring creatives to be engaged with their personal and business finances and more importantly, to give them the tools and support to stop freaking out about it.
Rosanna is co-founder of Iron Curtain Press, a custom letterpress print shop in Highland Park. They specialize in custom stationery, business cards and collateral, announcements, invitations, and small art prints. They also produce our own line of greeting cards and office supplies under the Iron Curtain Press and Shorthand brands.
Shinah spent her entire life on the straight, "proper" path. She went to Hahhh-vard University, then NYU Law School, then worked her butt off as a corporate attorney for a big law firm. But, after one too many nights of sleeping under her desk, Shinah decided she wanted to reclaim her life! After experimenting with a few mediums, she fell in love with calligraphy, and created a line of greeting cards that combine pretty lettering and dirty words - and Crooked Calligraphy was born.
