Want to jump off the fast fashion trend, slow down your spending and create meaningful pieces in your wardrobe that tell stories? Or do you just have a favorite pair of jeans that are in of need a little mending? Then this class is for you. In this class you will learn to adapt the Japanese embroidery technique, sashiko, to mend woven fabric. Please bring an article of woven clothing that you would like to repair using the sashiko method. Don’t have a piece to mend? You can still learn the technique and later turn your swatch into a bag or pillow! Thread, needles, and backing fabric are supplied.
