Modern Calligraphy for Beginners with Be a Heart Design

Join us in hosting artist Erica Tighe of Be a Heart Design at the studio for this fun-filled night of learning modern calligraphy! You will be introduced to the basics of using the tools of calligraphy - pen holders, nibs and ink. Using a workbook made especially for the class, you will have plenty of time to practice various letterforms to perfect your technique. Throughout the night, Erica will walk around and give individual assistance to each student to ensure that everyone leaves with the knowledge to continue practicing at home. You get to take all supplies with you at the end of class.


Weaving for Beginners at Rebecca Minkoff Los Angeles!

Hey all you west-siders! We are heading to Rebecca Minkoff in West Hollywood for a Weaving for Beginners workshop with Kellee Creative! This workshop is perfect if you are curious about starting your weaving journey. You'll learn the basics of weaving - assemble a simple loom, learn basic weaving vocabulary, and perform different weaving techniques (fringe! tassels! soumak!). All materials are included in the workshop - just bring yourself to Rebecca Minkoff and make your own woven tapestry!

Craft Cocktails from the Kitchen Cabinet with Jack Perry

Let's learn the basics. Think of this class with bartender Jack Perry as a mixology 101. In our two hours we'll learn the simple rules of cocktails, what to mix, why to mix, when to mix, and how to mix. We'll learn the balance of sweet vs. sour, shaken vs. stirring, and how to order a drink correctly. You'll make three drinks but leave with the knowledge to make 20!


Natural Dyeing with Indigo with Parrish Workroom

In this workshop with Karlee Parrish of Parrish Workroom students will learn the fundamentals of Shibori pattern making and how to create a variety of patterns focusing on folded, tied and clamped resist dyeing. All dye materials will be provided, as well as two 20X20 cotton pillow cases. Students must bring one tea towel sized piece of fabric, made of natural fiber (ie. cotton, linen or silk) from home.


Book Arts Workshop with Rachel Curry

Artists' books are works of art that utilize the form of the book. They are often published in small editions, though they are sometimes produced as one-of-a-kind objects. Artists' books have employed a wide range of forms, including scrolls, fold-outs, concertinas or loose items contained in a box.

In this one day workshop with Rachel Curry students will be introduced to several creative book forms including  folded single sheet books, accordion books, origami explosion books, and single sheet pamphlet books. Students will be encouraged to create content for there books using collage and mixed media techniques, and the best used for each book form will be discussed. This is perfect for artist, writers, photographers and anyone with a desire to create!

Succulent Wall Garden with Valerie Jurado

Sunday 8/7 11a - 1:30p | $89

This workshop with Valerie Jurado is designed to teach students how to assemble, plant, and maintain an Outdoor Vertical Wall Garden. Students will be provided with a pre made 16x10 wooden frame with an aluminum screen, paint, and tools. Pick a color, paint your box, fill it with Soil and Sphagnum Moss and enclose the back. Choose from a variety of colorful Succulents, desoil them, and plant away! You will be given care instructions at the end of class on how to hang and maintain your new, outdoor wall garden. Get ready to get dirty!


Weaving on a Frame Loom with Kellee Creative

Weaving on a Frame Loom with Kellee Creative is perfect for beginners as well as individuals who have some experience! In this workshop you'll learn how to warp a frame loom, various beginner and intermediate weaving techniques, how to use several weaving tools, experiment with dreamy, fluffy wool roving, and have ample opportunity to discuss and ask questions. All materials included! Students will leave with their own beautiful wooden frame loom and many tools so they can keep weaving at home. Brunch refreshments will be provided!


Color and Light: An Intro to Painting with Kristy Kay

This workshop with Kristy Kay is an exploration in the properties of color and light, which is an essential stage in learning how to paint from life. We will discuss the basics of hue, saturation and value while observing and painting from a still life using gouache paint. At the end of the class, each student will have their own painting to take home with them!


Banter Basics with Anna Williams

This workshop is for singles looking to step up their gab game. We’ll discuss the 5 Basic Elements of Banter. You’ll learn how to start conversations and keep them going. And at the end of the night, you’ll go home with a new dating profile summary, plus concrete skills for spicing up your conversations over chat and text!


Weaving with Macrame Wall Hangings with Little Feral

Learn how to make unique macrame wall hangings that integrate principles of weaving into traditional macrame methods! Little Feral's fiber artist, Kaysie Condron will share her tips for spicing up a macrame wall hanging with weaving, wrapping, and fringing. Students with and without macrame experience are welcome to come work together and inspire each other to create original designs! Each will leave with their own woven macrame wall hanging. All supplies are included.  


Fiber Necklaces with Little Feral

Come learn to make lovely rope necklaces with Little Feral's fiber artist, Kaysie Condron! Students will learn the basic principles and knots required to make a customized fiber accessories, from adding color and brass to reinforcing closures. This will be a collaborative, fun, and easy-going class designed to inspire your creativity, and send you home with a delightful necklace to boot!
